My Favorite Banana Bread

Ingredients

1 stick margerine, softened
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 tbs grated orange peel
1 cup mashed bananas (two bananas)
2 cups unsifted all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda.
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup semisweet chocolate pieces

Instructions

1 preheat oven to 350
Grease two 8x4 loaf pans.
In a large bowl with electric mixer at medium speed, cream butter, sugar, eggs, and orange peel until light and fluffy.
Beat in mashed bananas.
2. On waxed paper, combine flour, baking soda, and 1/2 tsp. salt.
At low speed, gradually add flour mixture then buttermilk. Beat until just smooth. Stir in nuts and chocolate.
3. Evenly spoon into prepared pans. Bake 1 hour or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
