Spanish Spice Cake
sour milk? is this buttermilk?
Ingredients
1 Cup butter
2 cups brown sugar
4 egg yolks, 2 egg whites
2 1/2 cups cake flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup sour milk
Topping:
2 egg whites
1/2 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup nuts
2 cups brown sugar

Topping:
2 egg whites
1/2 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup nuts
Instructions
Cream butter and sugar, add yolks and whites.
Beat. Add dry ingredients and vanilla and sour milk.
Pour in 9x13 pan.
Topping:
beat 2 egg whites until stiff,
gradually add in cloves, nutmeg and brown sugar.
Spread over UNBAKED cake and top with nuts.
Bake at (mystery temp) for 45-50 minutes.
